Terry Giegengack, MA

Caregiver Support Group Leader

It is an honor for Teresa to facilitate the Family Caregivers Support group at Positive Directions under a grant from the CT Southwest Area Agency on Aging. The social group meets twice a month at Westport’s Center for Senior Activities. Caring for the Caregiver is the focus of the hourly meeting.  Caregivers need a confidential place where they may receive personal support.

Teresa's professional experiences include casework and administrative positions, both in Westport and Fairfield’s Departments of Human Services.

Fairfield University and Fordham’s School of Social Services enriched her educational background with a Masters degree in Counseling and continuing education credits. Current group facilitator training is in progress with the CT Alzheimer’s Association.

Her hobbies includes reading, gardening, skiing and taking spontaneous road trips with her husband. Serving on Sacred Heart University Social Work’s Advisory Board and tutoring at Bridgeport’s Mercy Learning Center provides meaningful volunteer work.

Teresa is ecstatic to be back in Westport working with Positive Directions, Westport’s Center for Senior Activities and Westport’s Human Services department!
