Dyan Sommerville (she/her)

My name is Dyan Sommerville, I’m 16 years old, and I am currently a senior at Norwalk High School. I work for The Norwalk Partnership as a Prevention Intern and I run the Norwalk Strong club at Norwalk High. I got to know about this position because during COVID I was having trouble with anxiety, much like the rest of the world. Through Mr. Milton, Norwalk High’s TeenTalk counselor, I started to get the support I needed to not only deal with anxiety but to also revive old hobbies and practices such as reading, going to church, and getting involved with different activities. From there things became a blur and now I’ve been blessed with this internship to educate and offer resources to those who are in the position I used to be in. By God’s grace I want to graduate high school and go to UCONN to study medicine to one day become a nurse practitioner working in the ER.
