Maria Ricci

Advanced Clinical Intern

Maria received her bachelor’s in Social Work from Campbellsville University’s Carver School of Social Work in May of 2021 and is in the process of completing her advanced level Masters in Social Work. Maria also completed her BSW internship here at Positive Directions.

Maria has 10+ years of experience working in the medical field on the floors as a clinical team member. Through this, she has gained great interest in working with the young adult to elderly population, in Hospice Care, Oncology, and bereavement, as well as in helping individuals work through anxiety through mindfulness exercises. Maria believes that each client is the expert on their own lives and is willing to listen and provide support and guidance.

In her spare time, Maria enjoys hiking, kayaking, and traveling as much as possible! She also enjoys spending time with her husband, dogs, and family. Maria also spends a decent amount of her time contributing to the community whether it is working her church’s food pantry, being a member of the Parish Nurse Ministry, Women’s Guild, or volunteering at CT Hospice.
