About the event
The Westport Prevention Coalition (WPC) invites Westporters to a community discussion for Alcohol Awareness Month. How does alcohol function in our personal and social lives? What’s typical here that may not be usual elsewhere? How do youth, parents, and people in recovery experience Westport’s relationship with alcohol? Join us online for a discussion exploring these topics. Hear perspectives from a teen, parent, LGBTQ+ community leader, and counselors representing treatment and recovery. Participating agencies include the the Teen Awareness Group, LiftWell, the Progressive Institute & Westport Pride.
WPC is a community coalition dedicated to preventing substance misuse across the lifespan, through educational and environmental initiatives. Positive Directions is the state-designated agency managing the work. For more information about WPC or to join the coalition's monthly meetings (virtually), contact Margaret at mwatt@positivedirections.org.
