Danielle joins Positive Directions with a background that includes public speaking and mental health education, working with those in need of acute and/or detox care in the inpatient domain, and working with children, adolescents and families at home. With a passion for working with those struggling with co-occurring disorders, Danielle utilizes elements of Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapies as well as solution-focused techniques to help create a course of treatment that is individualized to the needs of those she meets with. Her humanistic approach to treatment allows each client to look inside recognizing and using their strengths to heal and reach their treatment goals. Danielle has been trained in art and play therapy styles which she uses with younger clients to help therapy feel more enjoyable. Recently, Danielle has begun focusing on aiding those struggling with grief and loss, as well as developing tools that would be beneficial to those struggling with a cancer diagnosis. Danielle’s eclectic approach to treatment tie in with her strengths in supporting people who are working through difficulties related to trauma, depressive disorders, substance and alcohol use disorders, and personality disorders.
