Sophia Rogers
Clinical Intern
Hello, my name is Sophia Rogers. I am a current undergraduate student at Sacred Heart University studying psychology. My passion lies in understanding behavior and mental illnesses, and I hope to utilize this understanding in my future career as a mental health professional. I am highly involved with psychological research on my campus and am currently a research assistant in three research labs. One of these labs focuses on substance use among college students, where I am able to examine substance use patterns and apply this understanding to the development of preventative measures for students. I am also the President of the Psychology Club, where I nurture other students’ understanding of psychology and facilitate an accepting and inclusive environment. Outside of class, I enjoy playing volleyball for Sacred Heart’s Women’s Club Volleyball team, volunteering for a crisis hotline, and spending time with family and friends. I am grateful for the opportunity to interact with clients and gather a better understanding of the professional counseling space at Positive Directions this semester.
