Treatment

Clinical Services

To help all individuals and families regain control of their lives, Positive Directions, an out-patient treatment center licensed by the State of Connecticut, offers many programs and services such as:

Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment for youth ages 13 through young adulthood;
Adult Out-Patient Treatment Program which includes individual & group counseling;
Problem Gambling Treatment;
Intervention Services;
Groups: Substance Abuse/Dependence, Early Recovery, Psycho-educational, others as are identified;
Employee Assistance Programs

Our goal is to provide the most effective, highest quality, course of treatment in a supportive environment.

The treatment process begins with an assessment session when the counselor can meet with the individual and identify the problem and understand what treatment would be most beneficial. Our highly trained counselors understand that each individual requires distinct care and their philosophy is to meet the individual where they are in the recovery spectrum. As there is no single treatment appropriate for everyone and individual needs change over time, many factors must be evaluated to develop the most effective treatment. In some cases the individual is referred to another treatment provider depending on the level of treatment recommended.

Positive Directions works in harmony with voluntary participation in 12-step programs.
