Positive Directions Receives Fairfield County Community Foundation GrantFebruary 18, 2011
Positive Directions has been awarded a competitive grant of $20,000 by the Fairfield County Community Foundation to support the agency’s Adolescent Treatment program. Since 2004, the Adolescent Treatment program at Positive Directions has provided comprehensive treatment and counseling by licensed and professional clinicians that addresses the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents in Fairfield County.
Marty Hauhuth, executive director of Positive Directions, in announcing the grant, said “The generous support of the Fairfield County Community Foundation allows us to continue providing access to comprehensive treatment services to families who may otherwise face their personal challenges without any other resource or community support. We are very grateful for the Foundation’s generosity and for their continuing confidence in our programs and services.”
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Karen R. Brown, Vice President of Programs, said the award was based on the continuing need for support for underserved families in Fairfield County who have adolescents requiring treatment. “Today’s financial challenges make it more important than ever to support the critical programs which serve the young people in our community,” said Brown.
The Adolescent Treatment program is a comprehensive service addressing the full range of psychological and neurological behavioral health issues, including substance abuse and other addictive behaviors, affecting children and adolescents in Fairfield County communities.
