POSITIVE DIRECTIONS SERVES UP A SUCCESS

January 08, 2008

WESTPORT, November 26—Positive Directions, a non-profit agency providing addictive behavior and mental health services in Fairfield County, announced the outstanding success of its recent fundraiser, the 2nd Annual “Celebrity Chefs Holiday Tasting Event” held on November 8th at Aitoro’s in Norwalk.  The event, sponsored by Fairfield County Bank and Fairfield Magazine, featured the tastes and talents of chefs from Fairfield County’s premier restaurants, caterers, and chocolatiers.

“Aitoro was the place to be that night” exclaimed Event Chairwoman Gaylord Meyer.  More than 400 people came out to support Positive Directions, partake of the excellent food and participate in our live and silent auctions.  We thank all who made this evening an overwhelming success, and look forward to seeing them at next year’s event”.

The event brought together the culinary talents of François Kwaku-Dongo from l’escale (Greenwich), Janine Scotti of DaPietro and Zest (Westport), Prasad Chirnomula of Thali (New Canaan), Pier Giorgi Nanni of Osianna (Fairfield), Jonathan Mathias of a dash of salt and Aitoro (Westport), and Xue Xia Guan of Tengda Asian Bistro (Westport and Greenwich).  Rounding out the evening’s gustatory experience were exquisite chocolates composed by master Fritz Knipschildt of Chocopologie (South Norwalk).

Positive Directions is a non-profit organization which promotes and support individuals, families and communities in Fairfield County by providing prevention programs and treatment services for mental health and addictive behaviors.  The proceeds from this event will go toward the funding of prevention and treatment programs in the Fairfield County communities.
