Our primary goal is to provide information, counseling, support and resources to people involved with alcohol, drugs and other destructive behaviors and motivate them to become mentally and emotionally healthy and to accept treatment when necessary.


BOB VIETRO, MS, LADC, NCGC- Clinical Director

Since 1988, Bob has worked in the treatment and study of addictions in both residential and outpatient settings. His primary work has been in treating the behaviors of substance use and pathological gambling. The focus of his treatment approach is to initiate the skills and strategies needed to establish abstinence. He and his clients explore, identify and address the emotional and situational factors contributing to the individual’s stage on the addiction spectrum. Bob has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling and Addictions. He is a CT state licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) and a nationally certified gambling Counselor (NCGC). He also has extensive experience in planning and facilitating family interventions and has been trained and certified as an interventionist by the Johnson Institute.



Nicole is a Connecticut and New York state licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. Nicole has over twelve years of experience working in a clinical setting. This experience encompasses residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment as well as individual and group child, adolescent, adult and marital counseling. Nicole utilizes the following intervention approaches: providing a safe environment in which to share; therapeutic relationship building; active listening; and reflective responding to help support individual and family growth and change.

Our free telephone advisory service is meant to allow you to inquire about mental health options and services in a discreet and confidential manner. For many of the hundreds of callers we respond to, it is their first step on the road to recovery.)


In a structured process, families work together to plan an effective and loving confrontation with the addicted individual. The goal is for the individual to acknowledge the need for treatment. The process establishes a caring and supportive environment for the ill individual and strengthens family connections.,

Employee Assistance Program

We contract with employers to provide confidential counseling services at no cost to the employee. EAP helps the employee cope with personal problems that affect job performance.
